Apprenticeships

With our multi-award-winning apprenticeship scheme, an apprenticeship at Geoffrey Robinson is more that just the first step on the ladder; it reflects everything that our family business represents.

We are extremely proud of the contribution that our apprentices make to our business, and since our apprenticeship scheme began, in 1971, have always considered our people to be our most valuable asset. We are also committed to continuing our excellent links with local schools and colleges, supporting our local community by providing work experience, training and employment opportunities - encouraging and inspiring the next generation of mechanical and electrical engineers.

Designed for anyone with a demonstrable flair for engineering, wishing to develop their technical and practical skills in our exciting industry, we provide three apprenticeship training schemes.

Two are administered by BESA (Building Engineering Services Association - http://www.thebesa.com ) and the other is with JTL training - one of the UK’s largest training organisations for electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation and engineering maintenance. (https://www.jtltraining.com)

The Apprenticeships include:

Technical Apprenticeship: (progressing to a Foundation degree).

Craft Apprenticeship: (progressing to NVQ Level 3 in Building Engineering Services Association).

Electrical Apprenticeship: (progressing to NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations).

All of our three courses combine traditional work-based learning, alongside our experienced engineers, with additional on job training, support, practical experience and site familiarisation from our Geoffrey Robinson mentors.
