Geoffrey Robinson wins national ECA Award - Best Client/Partnership

We are very pleased to announce that the electrical team here at Geoffrey Robinson won a very prestigious national ECA Award on Friday 7th June 2019.

The award was for the continued and complex electrical infrastructure project we are undertaking in partnership with Kier Construction and the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle.

The very complex project involves increasing the electrical capacity at a busy Primary Care, Accident and Emergency Hospital from 6.5 MW to 11MW. During the works our team are replacing 10 x 1100KVa transformers, re-locating the primary critical care switchboard and associated switchgear, interlocks and infrastructure.

With managed shutdowns and planned co-ordinated disruptions, continuity of electrical supply to all departments is critical. All of this is being done with close liaison with Kier Construction, the managers at the NHS Trust, and L.P.C. Switchgear, the manufacturer of the LV switchboards, busbar trunking and Power Factor Correction cubicles, to provide minimal impact to the Hospitals' continual requirement for seamless and reliable electrical supply.
