North Yorkshire Police HQ (Northallerton)

Mechanical – Building refurbishment

Project Overview

Completed in 2017 and working for a Main Contractor, Geoffrey Robinson bid in partnership with Interserve to undertake the Mechanical and Electrical fit out of a Corporate Building. The existing 20-year-old corporate building, was vacant upon possession had to be totally re-configured to the design, needs and requirement of the North Yorkshire Police. The project was valued at over £1,500,000.

Extremely challenging from its conception, the project had to make use of all old infrastructure and also remodelled, updated and checked to be compliant to modern building standards and compliance.

The challenge was made even more difficult as the high-profile confidential site was situated in the middle of Northallerton, with limits of access and visibility. Walls had to be temporarily dismantled and additional walls/blockwork had to be put in place to accommodate the new UPS system and standby emergency generator,

The building is the Headquarters of the North Yorkshire Police Commissioner, the Special Branch and Digital forensics. Security and resilience of the site and its’ services was of paramount importance

Lastly, Energy Efficiency was a key requirement; and we can confirm that our Electrical design and installation team provided the client with state-of-the-art iPad-controlled LED lighting throughout the building.
